Samsung is expanding its One UI branding to cover all consumer devices, now including smart TVs and home appliances. This announcement came from Executive Vice President Sally Hyesoon Jeong during the 2024 Samsung Developer Conference, as reported by 9to5Google. Previously limited to Galaxy phones, tablets, and wearables, One UI will now serve as the unified software experience across Samsung’s entire product ecosystem.
“One UI now extends beyond mobile, offering a seamless software experience for all Samsung consumer devices,” Hyesoon Jeong stated during the keynote in San Jose. This move aligns with Samsung’s goal of creating a cohesive branding experience, especially as the company integrates more advanced AI into its products.
Samsung also revealed a sneak peek of its upcoming One UI 7, set to debut with the 2025 Galaxy S flagship phones. Jeong highlighted that One UI 7 will introduce a “fresh, new look” to the interface, focusing on simplicity, impactful design, and an emotive user experience that resonates with human emotions. She emphasized that the One UI 7 home screen grid represents Samsung’s more streamlined design principles, offering a cleaner and more intuitive user interface.
Although One UI 7 is expected to launch early next year, developers will get an exclusive preview with a beta version available by the end of 2024. Samsung’s aim to deliver a cohesive and enhanced user experience, across its ecosystem, positions One UI as a key element in its evolving AI-driven future.
